COACHING

Support for parents of children with ADHD

If parenting your child feels exhausting, you're not alone

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DOES MY CHILD NEED A FORMAL DIAGNOSIS FOR ME TO WORK WITH YOU?

No, your child does not need a formal diagnosis. Many families seek support while they are waiting for an assessment or exploring whether ADHD might be a factor.

Coaching can help you better understand your child, respond more effectively to their needs, and create calmer, more manageable routines at home, even without a formal diagnosis.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF ADHD LIFE COACHING?

ADHD Life Coaching supports you in better understanding and responding to your child.

You’ll learn practical strategies to support organisation, focus, emotional regulation, and impulsivity, while also boosting your child’s confidence and self-esteem.

Just as importantly, it can help you feel less overwhelmed and more confident, creating a calmer home for both of you.

HOW WILL I KNOW IF ADHD LIFE COACHING IS WORKING?

You’ll start to notice changes in how you understand and respond to your child.

Situations that once felt overwhelming may begin to feel more manageable, and you may feel calmer, more confident, and clearer in how to support them.

Over time, you may also see positive changes in your child, as the strategies and approaches you’re using begin to have an impact.

WHAT OTHER RESOURCES DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR MANAGING ADHD?

I can share resources as part of our work together, if that feels helpful for you.

This might include practical tools, books, or articles to support your understanding of ADHD and your child’s needs.

Any resources are simply options for you to explore, not something you’re expected to follow.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE COACHING PROCESS?

During our sessions, we’ll explore what’s going on for you and your child, including any challenges you’re facing and what you would like to feel different.

Sessions are client-led, so you bring the topics that matter most to you. I’ll support you in reflecting, building awareness, and identifying strategies that feel manageable and right for your family.

DO YOU OFFER VIRTUAL ADHD LIFE COACHING SESSIONS?

I offer virtual coaching sessions via Zoom. Phone sessions are also available.

HOW LONG DOES THE COACHING PROCESS TAKE?

The duration varies depending on individual needs, but most clients work with a coach for three to six months to see significant progress.

CAN I CONTACT MY COACH BETWEEN SESSIONS?

Clients are welcome to contact me via email or WhatsApp between sessions. However, messages that require a more detailed or in-depth response will need to be addressed within a coaching session. I aim to respond to messages within 48 hours, Monday to Friday. Please note that I am unavailable at weekends (except for pre-booked coaching sessions) and during holiday periods. (See Support Outside of Coaching for further details.)

How should I prepare for a coaching session?

It's helpful to come with a clear idea of what you want to discuss.  There is the option to receive a preparation form before each session to help you organise your thoughts and goals.

What are your fees and payment options?

Fees vary depending on the coaching package you choose.

You can either pay in full at the time of booking or, for longer-term packages, spread the cost with monthly instalments.

Support Outside of Coaching

While ADHD coaching can be incredibly supportive, it’s important to know that it is not a crisis or emergency service.

There may be times when I’m unavailable to respond immediately, and I’m not able to provide urgent mental health support. If you or your child are in distress or need immediate help, it’s important to contact a service that can support you straight away.

Here are some free and confidential services you can reach out to:

📞 Samaritans – 116 123
Available 24/7. You can call them any time to talk about anything you're going through.

📱 Shout – Text "SHOUT" to 85258
A 24/7 text service for anyone in crisis, feeling overwhelmed, or needing support.

🏥 NHS – 111*
For urgent but non-emergency medical advice.

🚨 Emergency Services – 999
If you or someone else is in immediate danger.

Please take care of yourself and seek help if you need it. You’re not alone, and support is available.

If you have any questions about what coaching can and can’t support you with, I’m happy to talk more during our sessions or by email.
