What is ADHD?

ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. It is a condition that affects how the brain works, especially the parts that help with managing emotions, making plans, and solving problems. This can make it hard to manage time, stay focused, and control emotions. ADHD happens because of differences in brain structure and chemistry.

There are three types of ADHD:

  • Inattentive: Trouble paying attention.

  • Hyperactive-Impulsive: Lots of energy and acting without thinking.

  • Combined: Both inattentive and hyperactive-impulsive.
